Working with graphic design, moving image, and other illustration students, we organised a mock election intervention, held after the 2024 Irish elections to bring awareness to the record-breaking low voter turn out amongst young people. We faked an election aimed to rage bait students to encourage them to vote at a voting poll where we then had information on the previous elections, information on the importance of voting and resources to help students register to vote, if they were not already. The aim of this was to highlight the importance of voting, especially for young people who report disproportionate levels of government dissatisfaction.

Marsh’s Mystery Uncovered

Working with the Letterpress department in NCAD, myself and 2 other Illustrators created a collection of prints symbolising what Utopia meant to us. It reads "tá fior agam go dtitfidh mo gnús páipean an air go dtí an talaim ach, i ndiadh leanfaid na mílte bhian" as gailege, which roughly translates to "I know my paper crane will return to the earth, but, while they soar, their breeze will carry through", a short poem written by one of  our group, which speaks about the importance of community and connection in building your a utopia that will leave a trail of "paper cranes" or inspired and positive impact.
